Abstract
Perak Sejahtera 2030 is a state development master plan that is a continuation of the Perak Amanjaya 2020 plan. The plan, which was launched on the 15th of June 2022, also supports the Malaysia Madani plan and the country's efforts towards Wawasan Kemakmuran Bersama 2030 (Shared Prosperity Vision 2030). However, it is worth noting that the effectiveness of this plan greatly depends on the receptivity level of local communities and industry players. Therefore, it is important to identify the level of awareness and perception of the people towards the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan. Hence, this study was carried out to take into account the views of all levels of society regardless of background, to ultimately achieve the core principle of equality and inclusiveness. This study involved respondents who attended the Majlis Pembentangan Laporan Kemajuan Perak Sejahtera 2030, of various societal levels, from all districts in the state of Perak. The sample was selected using convenience sampling involving each participant who visited the Perak Sejahtera 2030 booth. Based on the Krejcie and Morgan method, the required sample size was 327 respondents. Data was collected by employing face-to-face questionnaires, and using the Microsoft Form application which was then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. This study found that most of the people are aware of the implementation of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan and that they have a positive perception of the programs, projects, and initiatives parked under this plan. The results of the Chi-square test analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between monthly household income and the level of people's awareness of Perak Sejahtera 2030. Meanwhile, for the analysis of the background and perception of the programs under Perak Sejahtera 2030, it is found that the length of residence and level of education have a significant relationship. To improve this study, future researchers are suggested to combine qualitative and quantitative methods to obtain broader findings in addition to conducting comparative analysis across districts and parliaments to help policymakers refine strategies to be more appropriate and effective. It is hoped that this study can help policymakers evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and organize programs that are more targeted to the people.
