Abstract
The Perak State Budget 2026 Study was conducted to obtain a comprehensive understanding of public awareness and perceptions regarding the implementation of the state's development agenda, while also examining household financial conditions and public priorities for the formulation of the Perak State Budget 2026. The study focuses on Perak Sejahtera 2030, the state’s key development framework, by assessing the level of public awareness of its existence and implementation as well as public perceptions of the initiatives carried out under the plan. In addition, the study evaluates the financial condition of households, particularly the major expenditure burdens faced by the public amid rising living costs. This study employed a quantitative approach through a structured survey involving 4,833 respondents representing various demographic backgrounds and districts across the State of Perak. The data collected were analysed using descriptive analysis to identify patterns of awareness, public perceptions, and key financial challenges experienced by households. The study also gathered public views and suggestions for the improvement of the Perak State Budget 2026. The findings of this study are expected to provide an empirical basis to support the formulation of a more responsive, inclusive, and evidence-based state budget that reflects the actual needs and priorities of the people, in line with the aspirations of Perak’s development agenda.
